Dr Hammond founded the National Adult Autism and ADHD Psychology Service at the Maudsley Hospital in 2009. He successfully ran and expanded this service modelled on his adaptation of psychological therapy for adults with Autism/ADHD. He remained as the lead Consultant Clinical Psychologist at the National adult autism and ADHD until 2020 when he set up private practice in his Harley Street clinic.
Dr Hammond has over 30 years experience working in the field of mental health. He has extensive experience of working with adults on the autism spectrum, is an experienced autism diagnostician and practitioner in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), behavioural interventions, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), family interventions, mindfulness and uses a wide variety of techniques from many other modes of therapy such as schema focused therapy, cognitive analytic therapy (CAT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and internal family systems therapy (IFS).

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) - Dr Hammond works primarily from a Cognitive Behaviour theoretical base. He is able to offer a wide range of therapies tailored to your specific mental health needs. He is a specialist in working with therapeutic approaches adapted for adults diagnosed with Autism and or ADHD.
Dr Hammond takes an integrative approach to therapy drawing on a range of therapeutic models including third wave CBT approaches such as: acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), compassion focussed therapy (CFT), schema focussed therapy, cognitive analytic therapy (CAT), internal family systems (IFS), and systemic therapies. He has further training in CBT, eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing therapy (EMDR) and is a qualified Mindfulness teacher.

Dr Hammond offers a comprehensive , National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) recommended multi-disciplinary autism diagnostic assessment including gold standard measures (ADOS-2 & ADI-R) and a full clinical assessment.
Dr Hammond has a wide range of clinical supervisory experience including direct 1:1, group and multi-profession supervision.
Dr Hammond has a range of expertise that focuses on the journey of adults with Autism and co-morbid mental health difficulties in the community, residential and inpatient settings. He has recently set up a Transforming Care Autism team that focusses on helping adults with Autism maintain their life in the community.
